Kano spends N152.8 million to train youth



The Kano State Government has spent N152.8 million in training 1 000 youth in auto-mechatronics and plumbing.

Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso disclosed the figures saying the initiative shielded youth from crime.

He said out of the number, 570 were trained on auto-mechatronics, a multidisciplinary field of engineering that comprises electrical, mechanical, telecommunications, control engineering and computer engineering, while the remaining 430 were trained in repairs of piping systems, plumbing fixtures and equipment, under the special Kwankwasiyya Empowerment scheme

He said the state was working to defeat extremism.

“We have been working from various angles in our state and we have been advising all those who care to listen on how to work together and defeat extremism in this country and even elsewhere,” Kwankwaso said
