
[IJEBU IGBO]- Ogun State Ministry of Environment has distributed relief materials to more than two hundred victims of Ijebu-Igbo rainstorm disaster of Wednesday March the 12th, 2014.
The distribution exercise which is the third phase of the programme took place at the Ijebu North local government secretariat.
The event also provided opportunity for affected victims from Oke Sopin, Atikori, Odo Balogun, Oke- Alafia among others, to receive relief
materials from government officials.
Officials of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) and other agencies working in relation with disaster and emergency management were present to witness the distribution.
Items distributed to affected victims include, mattresses, roofing sheets, bags of cement, nails, food stuff, palm oil, soaps, cloths among others.
Estimated properties destroyed by the disaster worth two hundred Million Naira and the wife of the state Governor, Olufunso Amosun had on Tuesday, March the 25th donated sundry relief items with cash of one million Naira as succor to the victims.
